In this video, I show you how to jailbreak your iPhone/iPod with blackra1n. This works for Windows and Mac and jailbreaks firmware 3.0, 3.1, and 3.1.2. This jailbreak works for all devices. However, regarding any iPhone, blackra1n does not fake activate it. For this jailbreak to work on the iPhone you will need to have an it on an official carrier (AT&T, not T-Mobile). The Dev-Team said this on GeoHot's blackra1n: "geohot released a Windows jailbreak called blackra1n which is similar to redsn0w in that it covers multiple devices (and it covers beyond just firmware 3.0.1 where redsn0w currently stops). blackra1n is not a carrier unlock. You must always avoid updating your baseband to maintain your unlockability." In other words... For 3G and 3GS unlockers DO NOT upgrade to 3.1.2 with iTunes if you want to keep your unlock because the baseband cannot be downgraded. Regarding the third generation iPod Touch... It's a tether jailbreak. So in order to boot it, re-run blackra1n.
