Create Custom Icons for iPod Touch/iPhone

This is a tutorial on how to create custom icons for apps on an iPod Touch/iPhone on Vista. You will need a jailbroken device for this. -- You will need to SSH with WinSCP Download this program from the following site: sourceforge.net Go through the installation process On your device Open Cydia Search "ssh" Download the packages: "Automatic SSH" "OpenSSH" "Toggle SSH" Close out of Cydia Open the new app Toggle SSH Press the Enable button Close to Home Screen On your computer Open WinSCP so that you can SSH Click New Your Host name is your IP Address Your User name is "root" Your Password is "alpine" Click Login On the right section of the window, click the top folder with the arrow pointing up Scroll down and double click Stash Open "Themes.xxxxxx" Minimize WinSCP Create a new folder on your desktop with any name you like Inside that folder, make a new folder names Icons Open Photoshop Create an icon for whatever app you want it to replace Save the picture as the application name, and as a PNG file Drag your new folder from your desktop, and into the Themes.xxxxxx folder Press Copy On your device open up Winterboard Choose your new folder with your icon themes Close out and your device is restart the springboard Now your new customized icons should be on your iPod Touch/iPhone -- Hopefully this helps some of you. Most of those methods involved loading a custom icon set into a custom launcher and spending quite a bit of time laying out screens -- and even then, the screens swiped left and right, not up and down like Windows Phone does. What we really needed was a launcher app that looked enough like Windows Phone, but was easy to use, and still let you use most of your widgets. The app comes in two flavors, an ad-based version and a "donate" version without ads. The ads only exist in the app list (not on the homescreen) so they don't get in the way.
